Down By the Riverside
I happen to know that area residents appreciate the resource that is New Albany's riverfront amphitheatre. What's more, I know several who have some tremendously creative ideas for exploiting that investment in a way that will create more entertainment opportunities for the city, its residents, and its businesses.
Some of these ideas are revenue generators; others are pure community building events.
Bob Trinkle, director of the venue, announced the cancellation of the fall riverfront events this week. But there is a silver lining.
Trinkle has invited residents to join a planning committee meeting on Sept. 11 to discuss plans for the 2006 season. He invites "anyone from the public sector or business community who has ideas for entertainment opportunities" to attend the 90-minute session.
